What Makes Us Different?
Severe weather forecasts and alerts are typically broad based, covering large geographical areas that include many people and buildings that are not impacted despite receiving weather alerts. This is because the alerts are based on algorithms that are not designed to be highly specific and often miss smaller weather events altogether.
Our approach involves receiving real time, raw data from every NEXRAD [Next-Generation Radar] station across the country, as well as thousands of smaller weather-monitoring devices. We use military-trained, operational forecasters to interpret this data and produce highly-granular alerts and forecasts down to the individual building level, 24/7.
Severe Weather Alerts
Receive highly accurate alerts by way of MetAlerts for all types of immediate severe weather including hail, rain, snow, wind gusts, and even tornados. In contrast to broad, regional alerts issued by other sources, MetAlerts are specific for an individual house, commercial building or your physical location. A MetAlert is typically issued 1-3 hours prior to a severe weather event and is pushed directly to your smart phone via text and email. The alert includes the start and stop time as well as the expected intensity of the event. With 95% accuracy, receiving a MetAlert means you are about to be hit by bad weather.
